There is a palpable energy in this piece, where the sharp, vertical lines of a city skyline seem to rise out of a cool, blue mist. We’ve layered deep ocean blues and soft grays with bold accents of gold leaf, creating a high-contrast look that catches the light differently depending on where you stand. The heavy application of acrylic paint gives it a real, tactile depth—you can almost feel the rhythm of the city just by looking at it. Technically, this is a standout example of palette knife work. You get thick, sculpted ridges in the buildings that contrast beautifully with the smoother, fluid washes of the lower section, suggesting a river or waterway reflecting the lights above. It’s an abstract interpretation rather than a literal photograph, which allows it to fit into a variety of modern settings without feeling too cluttered or rigid. This large-scale canvas works particularly well as a focal point behind a sofa or bed, anchoring the room with its moody atmosphere. Because it leans into both the urban theme and the textural element, it pairs nicely with contemporary furniture and neutral textiles. It brings a bit of that sophisticated, metropolitan edge to a living space without trying too hard.
