This piece brings a quiet, organic rhythm to the room, moving away from strict symmetry toward something more tactile. The surface is built up with thick, directional strokes of cream and light blue, creating a 3D texture that catches the light differently depending on where you stand. It feels less like a flat image and more like a physical landscape, capturing the slow pull and retreat of water without looking like a literal seascape. The color palette stays soft and muted, allowing the heavy impasto technique to take center stage. You get those deep ridges and subtle shifts between white, beige, and pale gray, which gives it a grounded, slightly weathered look. This approach fits perfectly into wabi-sabi aesthetics, celebrating the beauty of natural forms and imperfect textures rather than polished perfection. It works really well above a sofa or a console table where you can walk around and see how the shadows change in the grooves. It adds a sense of calm and weight to the space without demanding too much attention, making it a solid anchor for a modern, minimalist interior.
